Steering of Roaming

Defne’s Steering of Roaming product is a network-based solution and focuses on maximizing operators’ roaming profits and delivering a good roaming experience to subscribers.

When a roaming subscriber of home network mobile operator attempts to register to a foreign network, the foreign network asks for permission from the home network. Defne’s Steering of Roaming solution decides whether that registration is “wanted” or not based on the list of operator partners in a specific country. If it is, the request is accepted. If it is not wanted, the system declines the connection and intelligently steers the roaming subscriber onto the preferred visited partner mobile network in that country based on price and/or quality depending on the home operator’s defined criteria. Per GSMA recommendations, Defne’s Steering of Roaming solution rejects attachments to VPMNs up to three times while selecting a preferred VPMN.
